The Resource Insurance Group is a full service, independent agency, serving personal and commercial clients. Founded in 1991 by John L. Oshman as a one-person shop, the agency now employs two full-time employees, one part-time employee and represents insurance companies providing a variety of products and services. Employed is Julie Schadrie as Personal & Commercial Lines Manager and as Life & Benefits and.
Some of The Resource Insurance Group’s assets are targeted, niche marketing, committed employees, great office in a desirable setting, and many varied products from strong companies such as SAFECO, Liberty Mutual, Integrity Insurance, Group Health Cooperative, Quartz,and Delta Dental.

John L Oshman
Founder & President
John founded The Resource in 1991 after starting in the business at Sentry Insurance as an agent. Born and raised in Windsor, WI he knows what is important to the members of the community he serves. John enjoys golfing, boating, snowmobiling, fishing, hunting with his dog Sprecher, and watching football.
Julie Schadrie
Senior Account Manager
Julie grew up in Green Bay and has been licensed since 2009 where she began in life insurance. Shortly after she obtain her P&C license and has been working with independent agencies. She joined The Resource in 2013. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her daughter, boating, snowmobiling, golfing, fishing, and watching Badger Hockey and the Brewers.
Our Facilities
Our location at 2541 Smiths Crossing, Sun Prairie, WI, is located in an area of the city which has continued growth through their West Side Expansion Plan. Sun Prairie continues to be one of the fastest growing communities in the State of Wisconsin. The office is included in a newly designated TIF District created by the City Of Sun Prairie that has the largest growth in the city.
